The Cupcake Break
The craze began stateside in a famous episode of Sex & The City and now you can buy them in any UK supermarket or coffee shop on the high street - Cupcakes are all the rage! This is why we think our new fundraising idea will be a real winner and will encourage more women to get involved with Ovarian Cancer Action.
The Cupcake Break is a great way to get together with family and friends – at home or at work. Simply ask everyone to give a donation to Ovarian Cancer Action to take part. They can either bring along their own cupcakes, pay for the pleasure of enjoying your
cupcakes or you could even bake and decorate cupcakes together to enjoy later!
However you organise your event, The Cupcake Break will mean you can have your cake and help us beat ovarian cancer!
Visit www.thecupcakebreak.org.uk to find out more and get involved

Thank Frock it’s Friday
It’s Top Hats & Tiaras for our new fundraising campaign.
We’re encouraging all of our supporters to go seriously OTT and wear their most extravagant, fabulous outfit to work to raise money for Ovarian Cancer Action.
Thank Frock it’s Friday has been inspired by the glamorous girls and guys at LOVEFiLM who launched the campaign on September 4th by dressing outlandishly, outrageously and lavishly for work.
LOVEFiLM staff went about their daily activities in the most decadent attire they could lay their hands on, even taking public transport in full fancy dress!
Staff paid £10 each for the chance to dress up or a £20 fee if they didn’t and it raised over £300!
We hope that our supporters will take inspiration from our wonderful friends at LOVEFiLM and organise their own grown up mufti day, by hosting a Thank Frock its Friday in their office.
For more information, please email Hannah Greenshields.
Don’t forget – if you sign up to a free trial for LOVEFiLM at any time this year, you will generate a £20 donation to Ovarian Cancer Action and receive free films for one month for yourself. What’s not to LOVEFiLM?!

Fundraising can be fun and sociable!
Here are some really simple fundraising ideas:
Organise a cake sale at your local community centre or school.
-
Invite friends and family to a dinner party or BBQ and ask them to make a donation to Ovarian Cancer Action for attending. To create an online dinner party fundraising page visit dinner4good.com, the new online dinner party fundraising site [New window will open].
Arrange a £10 set menu at a local restaurant on one of their quiet nights and charge 10 friends £20!
-
De-junk your home at a car boot sale and donate the funds to Ovarian Cancer Action.
-
Ask your local school to hold a non-uniform day for a suggested donation.
-
Hold a quiz night and charge guests to attend.
-
Hold a skills auction: rope in friends with skills (hairdressing / reflexology etc) to donate their skills for free to be auctioned.
Collect at a local football ground or supermarket - be sure to get permission from the proprietors!
Place collection boxes at work or at the local supermarket, chemist or pub.
