Thank you to all our amazing runners for supporting us in the Virgin London Marathon 2010.

Ovarian Cancer Action is delighted to announce that we have places in the Virgin London Marathon 2011 and are taking applications.

The Better Half - Women's Half Marathon Series 2010

The UK’s first women only half marathon supporting Ovarian Cancer Action kicks off this year. There’s also a relay option for teams of three who’d prefer a shorter distance, so there’s no excuse not to take part!

The first ‘Better Half’ women only event will take place at:
- Castle Combe race circuit near Bath on 18th April
- Oulton Park race circuit, Cheshire on 11th July
- Pippingford Park, Crawley on 19th September

The Sheactive Every Woman's Duathlon Series

The series is about having fun and encouraging women of all shapes and sizes, fitness levels and ages to take part and test their personal progression in a supporting and non-intimidating, all- women environment.

2010 sees the launch of two new locations and also two distances so there is no excuse not to take part!
- Beginner Distance: Walk/Run 2.5K - Bike 10K - Walk/Run 2.5K
- Challenge Distance: Walk/Run 5K - Bike 20K - Walk/Run 5K

- Cotswolds Country Park, Cirencester on 23rd May duathlon runners
- Bucklers Hard, New Forest on 12th June
- Bristol Downs, Bristol on 26th June
- Bushy Park, Hampton on 4th and 5th September

    Be part of the world’s largest Triathlon on the closed roads of central London. With varying distances and a relay race, this event caters for everyone.

  • Great Scottish Run - 4th/5th September
    This is Scotland’s largest mass participation sporting event attracting a record-breaking 20,868 runners in 2009 and there’s a Half Marathon or 10k for you to choose from!

  • BUPA Great North Run - 19th September
    The world’s favourite half marathon takes you through Newcastle and the surrounding countryside. It’s a fantastic event and is guaranteed to be memorable.

  • 37th real,- Berlin Marathon - 25th/26th September
    40,000 runners will fill the streets of the German capital on the last weekend in September to take part in the fastest marathon in the world.

    The crowds are legendary. The atmosphere is hard to top. The course is one big sightseeing loop through one of the most exciting cities in the world. Berlin is one of the top five major marathons and is the only other top marathon in Europe other than London.

  • The adidas Women's 5k Challenge - TBC
    A fun-run for women of all ages and ability taking place in Hyde Park, London. It attracts around 25,000 female runners.

  • The Sony Ericsson Run to the Beat - 26th September
    London’s Music Half Marathon! The route starts and finishes at The O2 and winds through the streets of Greenwich. Bands will play at 16 stations strategically positioned along the route and the music is scientifically chosen to motivate you along the way!

  • Baxters Loch Ness Marathon - 3rd October
    The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon follows a spectacular route through stunning Highland scenery, along the south-eastern shores of Loch Ness, and then crosses the River Ness to finish in Inverness Queens Park Stadium.

  • Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon - TBC
    Run 13.1 miles through four amazing London Royal Parks.

  • Bank of America Chicago Marathon - 10th October
    One of the top five major marathons, it attracts runners from more than 100 countries and has developed a global reputation for its fast, record-setting course.

  • Cardiff Half Marathon - 17th October
    2009's sell-out race saw a record number of runners taking part, with over 11,000 entering the biggest road race in Wales. The Cardiff Half Marathon is fast becoming one of the top races of the autumn running calendar. The route takes you through beautiful scenery and past historic buildings.

  • BUPA Great South Run - 24th October
    21,000 runners take part in this fast, flat 10 mile road race through Southsea, Portsmouth, taking in some of Britain's naval heritage, including HMS Victory and HMS Warrior.
