Big C Cycle Challenge, 15 - 25 November 2008

Ovarian Cancer Action is one of 4 cancer charities coming together for a unique new fundraising event, The Big C Cycle Challenge – a 370km cycle ride across India.This is a fantastic opportunity to join together with other like minded people for a personal challenge with positive benefits for your own health, whilst raising funds for four wonderful charities aiming to stop cancers ruining lives. The funds raised will be split equally between the 4 charities. You don't need to be an experienced cyclist to join up, but you must be willing to train.

Celebrating Linda Smith 6 March to 10 May

Linda Smith, who died aged just 48 two years ago, is being celebrated in a tour organised and fronted by her partner, Warren Lakin. Performers include Radio 4's Charlotte Green and Corrie Corfield, singers Barb Jungr, Sandi Russell and Carol Grimes. £1 from each ticket goes to Ovarian cancer action. Beauty is laughter with the NIVEA Funny Women awards

The prestigious NIVEA Funny Women Awards is the hugely successful comedy competition for women and will begin its nationwide search for the best new female comedy talent from the 4th April with a series of showcase events across Britain. Raffles in aid of Ovarian cancer action will take place at each heat, and we will also receive the proceeds from the Final, which takes place at the world famous Comedy Store in London on Monday 23rd June. Sea Kayaking for Ovarian cancer action

Jeff Allen, an experienced sea kayaker, is setting off around Norway in March in aid of two charities, Children's Hospice South West and Ovarian cancer action. Jeff hopes to see a varied selection of wildlife, including orcas and sea eagles, and hopes to experience the Aurora Borealis. He and his team also hope to meet the Sámi people of Lapland, the last nomadic tribe in Europe. Who you gonna call? Coastbusters!

Between the 17th May and 24th May 2008, Euan Stronach, a cancer scientist from our very own Research Centre at the Hammersmith Hospital, will be riding over 3,200 miles around the UK coastline on his motorbike, in order to raise money and awareness for Ovarian cancer action. He will be joined at several points along the way by various like-minded biking fools - his words, not ours!

The ride will take in the most southerly (Lizard point), westerly (Ardnamurchan point), northerly (Dunnet head) and easterly (Lowestoft) points on the UK mainland plus the conventional stops at Land's End and John O' Groats. It's expected to involve 8 consecutive days of around 12 hours a day riding. Better get a comfy saddle then! Geared up to support Euan in his challenge?
