Whether you hold a large number of shares, or a small number that are uneconomic to sell, you can donate them and raise money for Ovarian Cancer Action.
High Value Shares
Generous tax incentives for individuals and companies that donate shares to charity, including:
- Income tax (or corporation tax) relief on the value of most shares and securities donated
- Exemption from capital gains tax
Low Value Shares
Many people own tiny share holdings that are uneconomic to sell. The charity ShareGift will collect these shares, and donate the proceeds of the sale to Ovarian Cancer Action.
Simply download our share gift form and send it along with the appropriate share certificates to:
ShareGift, The Orr Mackintosh Foundation Ltd., 17 Carlton House Terrace, London, SW1Y 5AH.
The Orr Mackintosh Foundation is a registered charity (no 1052686). For more information call 020 7930 3737 or visit their website.

Making a donation in memory is a wonderful way to remember someone special in a positive and lasting way.
At funerals or memorial services, many people choose to give donations, perhaps in lieu of flowers. If you would like to do this we can provide donation envelopes and more information on Ovarian Cancer Action.
If your collection is to be part of a funeral service and you are using a funeral director, we will be happy to liaise directly with them if you wish.
If you would like further information or donation envelopes please don’t hesitate to call 0207 380 1733 or email Charlotte.

When you sign up to support Ovarian Cancer Action through payroll giving your donations are taken directly from your pay packet before tax is calculated, which allows you to donate more, but pay less.
And, if you work for a company with less than 500 employees, the Inland Revenue will match your donations for 6 months.
If your company already has a payroll giving plan, simply download our form and give it to your HR department.
If your company does not yet have a payroll giving plan, please simply visit the HM Revenue & Customs payroll giving scheme page for guidance in setting one up.
Even a very small monthly gift can help with our life-saving research so we are extremely grateful for your support.

Save Lives & The Environment
We are now part of Giveacar, a service which collects any unwanted car free of charge.
The cars are either sold through an online auction or disposed of in an environmentally friendly way at an Authorised Treatment Facility.
Proceeds from any sale are donated to us and even "bangers" that are scrapped still get an average of £100.
Giveacar has processed more than 4000 cars for salvage or scrap and raised over £600000 for UK charities.
To donate your unwanted car visit Giveacar.

Recycling is a quick and easy way for your company to fundraise for Ovarian Cancer Action whilst at the same time looking after the environment. We can recycle a variety of items including mobile phones, CDs and DVDs, jewellery and foreign coins, stamps and even cars! A one-off recycling campaign or something longer term, we can work with you to provide collection boxes and producing marketing material. Recycling is an easy way for your employees, clients and suppliers to support our cause without costing them a penny.
To find out more about how your business can work with us or to learn more about our work, please call the corporate team on 020 7380 1742 or email Emily.

If you have a birthday, wedding, anniversary or other special occasion coming up, you can make it extra special by asking for donations in place of gifts as you celebrate.
- Create a celebration online giving page for your guests to donate to instead of buying a gift - we suggest MyDonate.
To make the day even more special:
- Order our pin badges and ask your guests to make a £1 donation for each pin
- Order our celebration favours
- Order our specially designed wedding donation envelopes/name place cards
We can provide you with all sorts of paraphernalia to let your guests know you are supporting Ovarian Cancer Action as you celebrate together.
For help with celebration giving please call 0207 380 1733 or email Charlotte.
Gift Aid is a government scheme that allows charities to reclaim the tax you have already paid on your donations through income tax or capital gains tax.
This means you can increase your donations by 25p in every £1 at no extra cost to you.
For example if you give £10 using Gift Aid, the gift is worth £12.50. Ovarian Cancer Action will treat all donations that you have made for the past four years and any you make in the future as Gift Aid donations unless you tell us otherwise.
Qualifying For Gift Aid
You must have paid enough tax in the UK in the tax year in question to cover the amount which we will reclaim.
We can claim Gift Aid on all donations from individuals, sole traders or partnerships. Unfortunately we cannot claim Gift Aid on company donations or individual donations using CAF.
How to Gift Aid donations:
- Download and return the Gift Aid declaration to us
- Call us on 0207 380 1742.
For more information about Gift Aid please see the HM Revenue and Customs website.
