The Ovarian Cancer Action Research Centre team provides direction and leadership for the research centre, working with the charity, the review panel and patients to create and implement the research programme, which consists of three parts:

Ovarian Cancer Action (HHMT) Laboratories

The lab team, based at Imperial College, will focus on the fundamentals of ovarian cancer, trying to define what causes it to develop and spread. Without this sort of basic knowledge, it will not be possible to develop new treatments and ways of detecting it.

Ovarian Cancer Action (HHMT) Joint Translational and Clinical Programme

This is a formal and unique collaboration between Hammersmith Hospital, The Royal Marsden Hospital and The Institute of Cancer Research. By developing joint protocols/ways of working, literally at patients' bedsides, we are creating the best possible environment for results, which will impact on lives.

Ovarian Cancer Action (HHMT) Programme of Targeted Projects

This part of the programme will pick up on exciting new developments in other scientific and medical fields, when they have the potential for impact on ovarian cancer. Initially, these projects are based in the 3 participating centres, but subject to future funding, will involve work with other institutions around the country, and abroad as necessary.
